How to use PixelWorkout’s push-up counter
- Choose an artwork and select push-ups in workout setup.
- Place your iPhone in front of you and follow the in-app camera guidance. Face the camera; side, rear, and three-quarter counting views are unsupported.
- Keep your supported movement in view and perform push-ups. The app recognizes valid repetitions on-device.
- Watch one native pixel appear per valid rep in Auto Paint, or save push-up paint points in Bank Paint.
More than a number at the end
A rep total tells you what you did. An artwork gives you something to return to. Choose a small piece or work toward a bigger creation over multiple sessions. Your saved artwork progress is a visual record of effort, not a promise of a particular fitness result.
Automatic counting needs the right setup
Camera placement matters. Use the frontal setup shown in the app and keep your movement visible. PixelWorkout supports push-ups and squats; it does not claim to recognize every exercise or every camera angle. This is repetition tracking, not medical or technique coaching.
Paint now, or keep the points for later
Auto Paint reveals pixels during the workout. Bank Paint saves exercise-specific push-up paint points to use on compatible artwork later. A separate 30-minute Double pixels booster increases the reward to two pixels or points per valid rep without counting that repetition twice.
Your questions, answered.
Do I have to tap the screen for each push-up?
The app recognizes supported valid repetitions using the camera, so its core counting flow does not require a tap for each rep. Follow the in-app frontal camera setup.
Can I use PixelWorkout as a browser push-up counter?
PixelWorkout is an iPhone app. This website demonstrates the pixel-art mechanic and links to the App Store; it does not access your camera or count your workouts.
Does it require an Apple Watch?
The core experience uses your iPhone camera. No Apple Watch is required.
Are my workout videos stored?
No. Camera frames, recordings, and raw pose data are not retained or uploaded. Workout results and artwork progress are stored locally on your iPhone.
