How does a camera squat counter work in PixelWorkout?

PixelWorkout recognizes supported squats performed facing the iPhone camera, using Apple’s on-device technology. Each valid squat reveals one native pixel in Auto Paint by default, or earns one squat-specific paint point in Bank Paint. Recognition runs locally; camera frames and raw pose data are not retained or uploaded.

Start a camera-counted squat session

  1. Browse the artwork collections and choose a piece you want to create.
  2. Select squats, then follow the in-app camera setup with your iPhone in front of you.
  3. Face the camera and keep the supported movement in view. Side, rear, and three-quarter views are unsupported for counting.
  4. Do your squats and watch valid repetitions contribute to artwork progress. Review your session results afterward.

A small goal you can see

A colorful creature, a tiny landscape, or a piece of outer space: your artwork becomes the reason to start. You can return to the same piece across sessions, with completed work saved to your Gallery. The catalog includes six artwork tiers for different-sized creative goals.

Keep your setup simple

You need your iPhone, enough space for the supported exercise, and the frontal camera setup shown in the app. PixelWorkout counts valid reps rather than promising recognition from arbitrary angles. It does not provide medical advice or individualized form coaching.

Squat points stay connected to squats

In Bank Paint, valid squats earn squat-specific paint points for compatible artwork. In Auto Paint, repetitions reveal pixels during the workout. The Double pixels booster is a separate, temporary reward increase: two pixels or points for one valid rep, for 30 minutes.

Can I count squats without an account?

The core PixelWorkout experience requires no account or cloud sync. Workout results and artwork progress are stored locally on your iPhone.

Does the squat counter work from the side?

The supported counting setup is frontal: perform squats facing the camera. Side, rear, and three-quarter counting views are unsupported.

Do I need to finish an artwork in one session?

No. Your local artwork progress gives you something to continue across sessions. One valid rep contributes one native pixel by default.

Is access paid?

PixelWorkout uses paid access through in-app purchases, with subscription and lifetime options. Current plans, prices, and availability appear in the app.
